Thank you for a most rewarding, enriching and enjoyable Aikido Warriors (Summer) Camp. It was an excellent week of Aikido practice and reflection. The photos are now up on our website.

Reflecting on the above quote, watching the videos of O Sensei and various senseis (in preparation and to share at the camp), and reflecting on our daily classes, I realised that O Sensei did indeed share the secrets of Aikido quite openly. It was a nice, warm affirming revelation. We practice all these constantly, through the legacy of Aikido movement and technique, and through the reflection of Aikido philosophy. Most of the time students look for something more, for something more sensational, and something more intricate and elaborate. While some Aikido techniques are complex and require effort to acquire fluency, most are direct in practice and application.

Watch, listen, and most of all practice and observe each movement, technique and etiquette diligently and perhaps you may also realise that while there may seem to be secrets, it may not be as hidden as is first perceived.

This is the last week for our summer classes. Classes will begin again from Tuesday September 4. Class times, bar codes and information are on the Notices page of our website. Do register as soon as you are able. I hope to see you in the Fall again.

Have a most enjoyable and invigorating Summer!
