"Failure is the key to success;
Each mistake teaches us something."

Morihei Ueshiba O Sensei

The reflection this week reminds us that even if things may not go the way we expect, pick yourself up and try to smile. It may be painful to swallow at the time, but when things get rough and it feels as though you have failed at something, it may be a blessing in disguise. Think about what the lesson in that instance may be, and how your thoughts, actions and attitude may be applied to produce a different outcome in future. After repeated failures while inventing the light- bulb, Thomas Edison said that he now knew as many ways not to make the light-bulb. Every decision, every lesson, every challenge and every experience takes us higher up the ladder to our destiny. Persevere on.

The Weekly Reflections will now only be published twice a month and be called Aikido Reflections. I hope these reflections have been useful to you on your journey inward, into a more meanful experience of harmony in your life and with those around as you travel the path of Aikido.
